A few weeks back, I met Nate Westheimer at a very cool, and very crowded Founder's Club gathering in NYC. Since then, we've bumped into one another here and there at meetups, gatherings and brainstorming sessions. I am incredibly impressed by him, his knowledge, and ambitions.
At the ripe old age of 24, Nate is the CEO and founder of BricaBox. VentBox, its inaugural product, was:
...launched in “public beta” in early 2007, offering Internet users a place to “vent” about things and find other people venting about the same things.
This past Tuesday evening, I was among the crowd at the NYC Web 2.0 Social Networking Tech Meetup where Nate presented the re-launch of VentBox, highlighting their new design (thanks to the pickup of a great new designer named Kyle Bragger), and a set of new features:
Enhanced sharing: with the use of some code, and social bookmarking icons, you can share your vents all across the web: on your blog, on Digg, delicious, Facebook and more.
Popular: an easy way to see the most popular vents, and venters
Tracking: a mini-feed of vents, a la Facebook (but different)
Mashable offers a review, here. The moment I looked into VentBox I saw immediate application within a multitude of industries and organizations. It's all about knowledge - and all about sharing and tracking that knowledge - in a simple, elegant, easy-to-get platform.
