By way of blogs, I've a newfound break from the 2.0/tech scene -- the Daily Galaxy. It is:
an eclectic multimedia presentation of fascinating news and goings on from around the world.
Beautifully crafted and excellently written, it's filled with original and referenced (linked) stories about the goings on in our galactic realm. A few posts to note, which will give you an idea of what I'm talking about:
Age of the Image - from Graphic Novel to Film
An Intergalactic Field Trip - The Birth of Paralleled Worlds
Berlin - Europe's "Hot" City Goes 3D on Google Earth
Da Vinci & Mozart's Requiem - a "visual feast of Leonardo's art set to Mozart's great masterpiece, his Requiem."
After consuming a gargantuan amount of information each day in the world of web 2.0, social media, digital tech and all that jazz, it's incredibly refreshing (and enlightening) to take yourself out of that space and ponder history, the future, and the universe. Even if for a few moments.
Oh, and they have some cool music and vid picks, too. Good stuff.
